And if the official synopsis is anything to go by, The Toxic Avenger is back with a vengeance. After all, the original ‘80s superhero comedy found a cult following due to its over-the-top violence and low-budget charm. Obviously, this rating will be a hit with the fans. Study up on the sequels, comic book series, and stage musical (!) if you feel like this guy is your next favorite super-person.The R-rating means that The Toxic Avenger joins the likes of fellow adult comic book movies such as Deadpool, Logan, and The Suicide Squad. And that’s just about your basics if you want to know what to look forward to for Dinklage’s take on the hero. A baddie named Cigar Face becomes his nemesis. He engages in some light vigilantism, so much that people start calling him “The Toxic Avenger.” He makes his Batcave equivalent in a junkyard. A la a Spider-Man spider bite gone wrong, Ferd gets himself some powers-superhuman size and strength-but emerges with major deformations. (In the best way.) It followed Melvin Ferd, a down-on-his-luck type who, after a being bullied a whole bunch, falls into a drum of toxic waste. The Toxic Avenger was about as much of a B-movie as you could get. But yeah, we’re not blaming you if you don’t know what the hell a Toxic Avenger is-so here’s a quick rundown so you can get properly hyped for Dinklage’s next role. This isn’t to be confused with an Avengers Avenger by the way-Dinklage’s film will be based on the 1984 action-comedy/cult classic, and I Don’t Feel at Home in This World Anymore director Macon Blair will helm the project.
